Lions Clubs International
Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Its 1.4+ million members in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in 207 countries and geographical areas around the globe. Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired, championed youth initiatives and strengthened local communities through hands-on service and humanitarian projects. Mission: "We Serve"
The Hyde Park & District Lions Club is a non profit organization. Our club is fortunate to have many talented and hard working volunteers who are committed to help others. Our club raises funds for various causes brought forward. Some of these include: blindness prevention, youth programs and scholarships, services for children, health-diabetes, pediatric cancer, environment, & disaster relief.
The Hyde Park Lions Club participates in various activities/events throughout the year. Some of these events include: Pet Value Walk for Dog Guides (May or June); Car shows: Country Cruizin Nights (Thursday evenings, May-Sept) @ Plunkett's Estate; Hyde Park Lions Club Santa Claus Parade (November); Highway and Park Clean up (Spring & Fall); Salvation Army Kettle Drive (Dec), Park Canadian Tire), and the new Spring Fling Music Event with Sarah Smith.
The Hyde Park & District Lions Club meets twice a month, Second & Fourth Mondays from September until June (no meetings in July & August). Besides meetings, we also participate in various social activities together such as tours, bowling nights, summer BBQs & a Christmas dinner. We also have a variety of guest speakers who visit our meetings. NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME!!
